Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay is an Indian Bengali writer who writes stories for children and adults. His creation of the fictional character Fatik. He completed his secondary education from Victoria College, Cochbihar, West Bengal. Completed Master’s degree in Bengali from the University of Calcutta. He began his career as a school teacher. At the present time he is involved with the Ananda Bazar Patrika and Desh patrika. His first short story was published in the Desh Patrika in 1959 under the title Jaltaranga. His first novel for children was Monojder Adbhut Bari. His notable books are- Jao Pakhi, Ujan, Kagojer Bou, Kit, Churi, Chokh, Jal, Din Jay, Durbin, Parapar, Phulchor, Bikeler Mritu, Manobjamin, Ghun Poka, Pap, Tithi, Goti, Goyner Baxo, Noyon Shama etc.
